Our Story

Badger Plant Training was founded on a simple belief that effective safety training can only come from people who have lived and breathed the industries they serve.

At the heart of our company is Ade Bunyard, whose career spans more than 25 years in the construction materials industry.

Ade has accumulated a breadth of experience that is genuinely rare in the training sector. Over the course of his career, he has worked across sand and gravel, limestone and hard rock quarries, landfill and recycling sites, asphalt and concrete plants, and manufacturing facilities, giving him a comprehensive, ground-level understanding of the challenges that operators and site managers face every single day.

Throughout all of those roles, one thing remained constant: a deep commitment to health and safety. For Ade, it was never simply a box to be ticked or a regulatory obligation to be met. It was a genuine priority, and one that ultimately led him to make the natural transition into health and safety full time.

From JAB Training to Badger Plant Training

When Ade established JAB Training and Consultancy in 2021 it was the culmination of a career spent recognising that too many workplaces were still getting safety wrong, not through negligence, but through a lack of genuinely practical, experience-led training.

Starting out as a focused mobile plant and health and safety training consultancy, JAB quickly gained a reputation for the quality and relevance of its instruction, built on Ade's unique ability to speak to clients and delegates as someone who had worked at every level of the industries he was training.

As demand grew and the scope of the business expanded, it became clear that the company had outgrown its origins as a sole consultancy. Badger Plant Training was established as the natural next step, a fully accredited training provider, with a wider team of qualified instructors, a broader portfolio of courses, and the infrastructure to serve organisations of all sizes across the UK.

The values that drove JAB from the start, however, remain unchanged: practical knowledge, genuine expertise, and an unwavering commitment to workplace safety.

The People Behind the Training

Ade remains actively involved in the business he built, bringing the same hands-on commitment to Badger Plant Training that defined his career on site.

When he is not focused on the business, you are likely to find him following Leeds United or keeping a close eye on the Formula 1 calendar, passions he has maintained alongside more than 30 years of marriage and raising four grown children.

That personal grounding matters to us. We are not a faceless training provider. We are a team of real people, with real industry experience, who care deeply about sending workers home safely at the end of every day.
